Nice and quiet, close to the beaches and cliff walks
The house was excellently resourced with everything we needed for our 5 day stay. The rooms were quite spacious and the kitchen, beds and bathrooms excellent. We enjoyed the wood fire as it was quite cold while we were there. The major complaint was that the heat in the radiators turned off in the night so it got quite cold in the house in late November. We did call the local person who said she would get that corrected (the controls were behind a locked door so we could not adjust the time heat was on – just the level of heat) but it didn’t seem to make any difference as the heat went off during a portion of the night for the duration of our stay. Also the TV worked for one evening but I couldn’t get it to work after that. After the experience with the heat we didn’t think it worth asking for help with the TV. So overall the house was just great but if you stay in the winter make sure you have the heat assured throughout the night and that the TV is working.
Lovely house for beach holiday!
We had a fantastic week ( with amazing weather!) in lovely Rock. Seamist is a great house – really convenient for the beach and the ferry to Padstow. It is very comfortable and well equipped, and is was wonderfully welcoming to find tea & cake on arrival!! Thanks Sarah – can we come again!!!
Our Stay in Rock
Sea mist had everything we wanted. It was ideally positioned for all activities and places of interest and extremely well fitted out with fridge, freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, wi-fi, t.v. etc. The garden was ideal and secure if you had small children or dogs. We cannot fault it in any way – it was more comfortable and certainly much quieter than our home near Gatwick!! Sarah Austin, the owner was so nice in every respect. Not interfering at all but generally very helpful and caring. We love Rock, we have visited every year (last year an exception due to health reasons) and Seamist is probably the pick of all the places we have stayed at. Would most certainly come back here again.
Fabulous property in great location
Just had a fab week – could have done with 2 weeks! Property very comfortable and clean. Good-sized garden. Within walking distance of shops – amazing clothes shops for such a small place! Lovely walks around area. Bit of a steep climb to waterfront but kept us fit! Plenty to do in area – particularly enjoyed paddle-boarding at local ski school and body-boarding at nearby Polzeath. Easy reach of Padstow via ferry. Would highly recommend.
Sea mist cottage Wadebridge
Nice property in a quiet area with secluded garden to the rear. Well furnished, two good sizes bedrooms and a smaller bedroom for children. Two nice sized bathrooms. The cottage is well equipped for home eating. A downhill stroll to Rock beach and the ferry to Padstow. Would stay again, recommended.
This was the first time we had stayed in Rock and the first time in this property. We found it to be just as the owner described, well-appointed, very clean & comfortable. In comparison to other self-catering properties it was a very welcome sight to see comfortable, as opposed to purely functional, lounge and bedroom furniture. Despite the inclement weather, we enjoyed our stay and the details of the surrounding area, previously provided by the owner, proved invaluable. We would certainly recommend the property to our family & friends and may make a return visit sometime.
This holiday home is very comfortable and well equipped and is extremely well cared for. A lovely, light spacious lounge looks onto a tidy secluded garden . Mrs Austin provides very accurate details and descriptions of both her property and of the local attractions. In particular, we would recommend the local bakery and the restaurant, “The Dining Room” which are within easy walking distance. The wonderful beach at Rock is suitable for families to play and also for those who like walking. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to our friends and look forward to returning in the near future. A lovely place to stay.
We have found Seamist to be very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully furnished; the provision of linen also makes packing that much easier. When we stayed in the summer the garden and BBQ were well used and during our recent autumnal visit the bungalow was cosy and the log fire was wonderful. We also made good use of the vouchers available with the rental that enabled us to eat at local restaurants at discounted prices. We have stayed at a number of rental properties in both Rock and Padstow over the years and this is certainly one of our favourites.
