Seamist is 5 minutes walk to local shops including Butcher, Baker, Fishmonger and Delicatessen. Rock and Padstow have some excellent restaurants and pubs including Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, The Dining Room ( 2 mins from Seamist) and Nathan Outlaw’s Seafood Restaurant and Grill, winner of 2 Michelin stars and voted ‘Best Seafood Restaurant in the UK, located at the St Enodoc Hotel, a short walk from Seamist. The newly refurbished “Number 1” restaurant, alongside the beach, offers great food at inexpensive prices and the best views in Rock.

Local places of interest include Lanhydrock, the hugely popular National Trust House (2nd most visited National Trust House in the UK), Pencarrow and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, rated as the Nation’s favourite garden in a BBC poll. An unforgettable experience and a fascinating day out is at the world famous Eden project, referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. Visit the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno in the Summer for outdoor theatre and enjoy superb productions under the stars. For children try Old McDonald’s farm and Crealy’s Adventure Park. For true luxury book a treatment at the Cowshed Spa at the St Moritz Hotel (5 mins drive from Seamist) – linked to the Cowshed at Babbington House in Somerset this is a great treat.
There is a huge range of leisure activities available locally from surfing, sailing, swimming, tennis, golf, cycling, horseriding, walking as well as enjoying the beach and its rock pools and building sandcastles. Equipment can be hired and tuition is generally available. One of our favourites is to take the 5 min foot ferry to Padstow, hire some bikes, cycle along the beautiful Camel trail alongside the estuary with its stunning views, stop for an ice-cream in Wadebridge, carry on to the award winning Camel Valley Vineyard for some wine tasting and back to Padstow for Fish and chips at Rick Stein’s. A perfect day !
